Camp wedding. Wedding camp. Either way - this wedding which was at Hulbert Outdoor Center on Lake Fairlee in Vermont. It was beautiful amazing stunning joyous brilliant fun. And as exquisitely executed as it gets.
After getting in the dresses, we went to Aloha Campsite for a first look and some family portraits. Check out the skills of walking in heels on pine needles with eyes closed, lovingly assisted by bridesmaids.
The guests were assembling in the for the ceremony at Chapel in the Woods. Music played a huge part of the day. Jenny is a trained opera singer, and vocal teacher and the guests (all of them) brought their voices together in a goose bump inducing part of the ceremony. The ceremony concluded with a candle ceremony - incorporating all of the guests as they added their own flames into one large M.
A five minute walk back to cocktail hour in the Cocktail Tent. How much fun it is to have a tent for cocktails! As the sun set, the matrons of honor gathered the guests, handing everyone champagne flutes. They gave, laughing and wiping tears from their eyes, two heartfelt and hilarious speeches. And then the curtains were drawn back to reveal the barn. In all of the glory. All of it.
Dinner and drinking and informal toasting and music ensued. The surprise for the night (for the guest) was a lantern ceremony and fireworks over the field by the tent.
And then it was dancing. Non-stop until the party relocated to the bonfire.
Can you tell I was impressed by this wedding? Impressed by the thoughtfulness and the deft execution? Impressed by two amazing women whose union brought it all together? Impressed by the family and friends surrounding them and showing their love and support.
Yes. Unequivocally yes. To all of it.
Many thanks to the team
