Boston City Hall Weekday Wedding

BOSTON CITY HALL WEDDING

Are you in? Or are you in? With these two questions, a love story was born.

With parents who were meeting each other for the first time in tow, Casey and Greg said their marriage vows at Boston City Hall, exchanged their engraved wedding rings and made it all legal and official.  They were all in!

Not quite an elopement, Casey and Greg chose to keep things simple.  They paired their wedding down to their essentials: family, food, love. Opting for an intimate City Hall wedding ceremony with just their parents for the first day. On the following day, they hosted their siblings and extended families for a dinner and celebration at one of their favorite waterfront spots, Babbo.

City Hall wedding ceremonies are quick.  After the actual ceremony, we spend some time wandering through the city and capturing portraits of the newlyweds and their parents using beautiful Boston as an integral part of the visual story.

An awesome ultra-Boston moment when the assistant city clerk and the father of the groom started talking what Greek villages their families had immigrated from.

WEDDING PORTRAITS IN BOSTON

After the City Hall ceremony, we walked through the city winding our way through the Boston Common, the Public Garden and into Copley Square where the couple had dinner reservations.

Detail of the gorgeous engagement and wedding rings.  The interior of the wedding bands were engraved with the words that began everything: "Are you in or are you in?"  "I'm in!"

While Saturdays are the most popular wedding day and much of my calendar dates for the year are filled with weekend weddings, I adore photographing small intimate weekday weddings like this Boston City Hall wedding.  All the joy and excitement is distilled into an intoxicatingly pure form.

My weekday wedding and intimate wedding coverage includes photographing the ceremony as well as an extended portrait session to complete coverage.  The portraits can be formal and informal, but importantly they tell the story of your day.

Curious about getting married at Boston City Hall?  It's fairly easy. And certainly fun!  You'll both head down to City Hall (M-F 9-4) with $50 to fill out the Marriage Intention Form at the Registry Division.  Make sure you do that at least three days before your wedding date.   Then you can return to City Hall and pick up your marriage license and get married!
