Boston Engagement Portraits .:. Waterfront, North End

I love photographing engagement sessions, especially in Boston.  Boston is, as we well know, a small-ish city, but it's packed with wonderful and historic places to shoot.  When I first spoke with K., she mentioned that she and A. were avid Bruins fans, and that they were interested in taking some images by the waterfront.  We planned on a few locations within walking distance, to get a varied look  (from historic, to sporting, to urban) and feel to the images. It was a windy Sunday afternoon when we met in Charlestown.  We started at the rooftop of Pier 6, warmed up a little and ventured forth.  As dedicated Bruins fans, we had to stop by the Garden and I used the shapes of the sign letters in their images. From there we found our way to Copps Hill Terrace.

Here they are, very much in love with each other, and the best of friends.  We had a great time, and the wind totally cooperated with us.

Boston Engagement Portraits .:. Fenway, South End, Copley

Hello out there!
I am woefully behind on getting new work up on the blog. And I'm not going to fuss over that part too much, because it's already e-season again!

So to kick of what looks like a string of fall engagement portrait sessions, I wanted to share some images from a Boston engagement portrait session earlier this spring.  These ladies met up with me at the Museum of Fine Arts and we wandered through the Fenway to Copley Square with a brief stop in the South End for good bricky measure.  I loved hanging out with these two.  And then? And then there were GOT and LOTR references flying within five minutes.  Heaven!

Back Bay Engagement Photography

Early summer and the streets are green, covered in blossoms and perfect for wandering through the Fenway and the back bay.  These new Massachusetts residents were celebrating their engagement.  We started at the MFA and then ducked in the fens for a moment to use the gorgeous flowering trees as a beautiful pink background.  Then it was up through the back bay and into the courtyard of the Boston Public Library.  We had a great time!  These two ladies are bubbling over with happiness.

Cambridge Engagement Portraits .:. Harvard Square, the start of it all

This couple braved what was quite a bitter, if lovely, afternoon at Harvard's campus to secure a set of beautiful Cambridge engagement portraits for their Save The Date cards and wedding website. I adore shooting around the campus - there are so many beautiful doorways and spaces to explore.  We began at Mt. Auburn Street and meandered down to the footbridge by the river, feeling the cold wind coming across the ice.
It seems that many relationships begin in college.

The good ones last.  This couple met their freshman year. Eight years,  five cities, and two countries and several post graduate degrees later they are still going strong.

The wedding itself will be later this year in Istanbul, see pic from the Grafton Street below. (My martini not pictured.)

Cambridge Engagement Portraits .:. Harvard Square love story

These sweethearts just had their wedding on Saturday. With my epic delay in blog postings, I am just now getting to their Cambridge engagement portraits.
This was a beautiful morning in Harvard Square. We had to reschedule a few times because of the epic heat waves that hit the city earlier in the summer.  J. chose such a gorgeous color for her dress. I left them feeling as bubbly and happy and lovely as they were.  And that's a nice feeling.
