Father and Son Portraits

Is it a surprise that I'm suddenly partial to portraits of fathers and sons?  No. I've been loving photographing L and the engineer.  Sharing a few favorites from a recent fall family adventure father and son photoshoot in Jamaica Plain.   The ladies of the house stayed home - this morning was just for the boys.

It was such a gorgeous afternoon!  Mateo was unusually careful and deliberate in all his movements, gradually warming up to me and the camera.

Boston Graduation Portrait Photography .:. Boston University

It's not every day that your youngest son graduates from BU. It's not every day that your kid brother can steal the show after your wedding. And its not everyday that your family flies in from Toyko and California to celebrate for the weekend.  So it's a pretty good reason to commemorate the occasion, such as it was, with a family portrait. And since you have a red robe and a funny hat, you should probably wear that in a couple too.  Congratulations, Shuji! Welcome to the 'real world.' It's pretty cool on the other side.

ps - I adore goofy dads!

Boston Family Portrait .:. Saturday Afternoon Playdate

Some new friends stopped by for a quick boston family portrait this afternoon. My white seamless even got into the action with some sharpie drawings. Love this gem of these three men cooling it.

Boston Family Portraits .:. Afternoon in Arlington

A few gems from a set of Boston family portraits I shot last fall at the Arlington Reservoir Beach.
Yeah.  So this kid is pretty adorable, right? And he lives with a pet cat and a helper monkey (who wasn't in the pictures, unfortunately). Oh, and two loving and terrific parents too.

I giggle every time I see this mischievous face.

Boston Family Portrait .:. Three, Not A Crowd

A few Boston family portrait gems from a shoot last fall in New Hampshire.  I grew up with his mom in Dorchester. We met and became fast friends when we were toddlers ourselves.
Her little guy is getting so big! I've had the honor of photographing him since he was born two years ago.

C. pretty much had no interest in having his portrait taken, but he did want to scoot around the yard, picking up pumpkins and placing them in another spot and back again. He also ran up and began climbing around on his dad.  For a rambunctious toddler, that's about right.

Boston Park Family Portrait .:. Nearly a Big Sister

This charmer, who is about to be a big sister, started out shy and quickly warmed up when we spent some time playing and making portraits in the Rose Garden.
