Indoor Engagement Photos Boston

Boston Indoor Engagement Session

New England winter.  Outdoor shoots. Yikes.  While you could throw caution to the wind and shoot outdoor, there are many months that you, and I, would rather cozy up inside.   A and N wanted to do an indoor engagement shoot in Boston even before we knew it would be a chilly Sunday afternoon.  After scouting out a few places, I fell in love with the light and atmosphere at Fort Point's Oak + Rowan.  We once lived across the street from this space when it was Twelve Chairs.  Now a brick and beam lofty industrial space that makes the most of its window light - the space is both comfortable and modern. (and the dessert menu . . . . trust me.)

If you want to rock your Boston engagement portraits like these two without fretting about plan B for weather,  start thinking about doing portraits in beautiful spaces like this!

Of course, you don't have to go to a bar or restaurant.  Other Indoor Locations in Boston to Shoot Your Engagement Photos - your place, one of the many universities we have in Boston or across the river (perhaps you once attended one of them), the Butterfly Place is one of my favorites!

Loved this session!  These love birds were amazing.  A late afternoon.  A Rent-the-Runway dress. A welcoming staff at Oak + Rowan.  Perfection.

Fort Point Art Walk

FORT POINT SPRING ART WALK

Where is Fort Point?  It's just across the channel from south Station, adjacent to the Seaport and technically a part of Southie. Fort Point is one of New England’s largest artist communities, home to over 300 artists who produce work in a wide array of media.

The Fort Point Spring Art Walk is happening on Mother's Day Weekend! Enjoy a stroll through our lovely and rapidly changing neighborhood. What a great way to spend time with your mom.

While we won't be opening the doors at #601 (coming off maternity leave), I will have some recent pieces up in the building.

Friday, May 12: Preview all galleries and select studios 4-7 pm
Saturday, May 13 & Sunday, May 14: 12-6 pm

It will be more than studios doors being opened.  There will be performances and public art as well. For a full schedule of activities check fortpointarts.org.

New Digs: my life peripatetic no longer

Some of you already know.  Some of you have already been over. I won the housing lottery.  For real.  *beam*

Over the summer, I've moved to and have been living and working in a live/work (this is obvious, yes?) loft at Factory63, an Innovation District/Fort Point project by Gerding-Edlen. It's a beautiful space, with inconceivably high ceilings and closets, closets, closets! And it's right across the street from the delights of soy pickled deviled eggs at Blue Dragon. So, basically it is perfection.

While I adore Fort Point, it's not yet filled the space in my heart for my beloved Fenway and Citizen, Tasty or the Roberto Clemente Dog Park Allstars, but it's getting close. The new neighbors (Imani, David, Karl and Bill) have been wonderful, and Sadie is nesting into this seaport scene.

Next Open Studios is the weekend of May 10/11.

Welcome!

The studio is set up for you - always.

Boston Engagement Portraits | Fort Point

Adore! Brick, graffiti, empty streets.  It's romantical, right? In the wake of a trip to the warmth of Arizona, C and J braved the brisk spring winds in Fort Point for an urban engagement portrait session. And as I am prone to do when I am in the neighborhood, we stopped into Lucky's for a warming refreshment.

Nearly all of the images from this session seemed to lend themselves to a contrasty black and white. Cool, eh?
